"Carrying Love" is a exhibition and video projection based on the work of poet E.E. Cummings. This showcase done for my Drawing II final discusses love and its eternity, and gives unknown faces to the stories and experiences of the love that we all carry within us.
This was made using charcoal on cardboard panels, and attached to these are folded paper containing the words from letters I have received over the course of my life. The video was edited in Premiere Pro, and contains snapshots of people and places that carry love. Due to COVID restrictions, I was not able to project the video as I originally intended, so it is attached below. The relationships I have built over my life (even those that have come and gone) are ones that I hold very close to me, and this project will hold a special place in my heart for that reason.
In the words of Cummings, "Unless you love someone, nothing makes sense."
