This has been a band that has gotten me through a lot of rough times, and truly makes me feel seen and heard. "Being Funny in a Foreign Language" is the band's most recent album before announcing their hiatus. It captures the sense of societal doom through a postmodern lens, overlayed with funky 80's-influenced production and poorly timed sexual innuendos.
This abstract vinyl redesign is an homage to the band's ability to overshadow the discussion of controversial topics (climate change, the negative effects of social media, mass shootings, etc.) with upbeat melodies and catchy lyrics.

MATCHBOX TWENTY
Matchbox Twenty is one of those bands that my dad used to listen to in college that I never appreciated until I was actually in college. Their discography embraces sincerity from the lens of ordinary people, and their recent comeback in 2023 proves to show that their sound and lyrics are both nostalgic and timeless.
Here is a redesign of their debut album "Yourself or Someone Like You". The track list touches on subjects such as adultery, domestic violence, depression, and psychological abuse, but as a whole captures the essence of bouncing back and remaining true to yourself no matter what life throws your way. I tried to capture the essence of their classic 90's sound while also bringing some newer design elements as an ode to their resurgence.
